Among the numerous tests required by the Austrian Ö-Norm Institute there are those of snow drive. The TÜV Osterreich performed them at the Alpincenter (www.alpincenter.com) of Bottrop, in Germany, a winter sports centre open all year.

One performed comparative tests among steel non-skid chains and Trendy®, by measuring the force of up thrust.

The test is made of 3 measurements with steel chains and 3 with the product put to the test. The force of drive is measured by a dynamometer applied to the car which is being towed. Results on Trendy® are slightly better than those obtained with iron non-skid chains. TÜV engineers congratulate for a result which they had not expected.

The TÜV Osterreich then performed abradability tests (120 Km on asphalt) also on ice, according to the Ö-Norm V5117. Tests have been successfully passed.
